The Mary Ann Hepworth was retired in 1974 after 36 years of service, having saved 201 lives
. Now you can take a really enjoyable and exciting 30 minute trip along the coast in this lovingly restored and historically important lifeboat. Their excellent Old Whitby Lifeboat website has a comprehensive history of the boat and full details of where to board.

Enjoy a boat trip along the coast with Whitby Coastal Cruises, wonderful views, whale watching and refreshments on board. Evening cruises to watch the sunset are very popular, following the coast to Sandsend and returning in the dark! If you prefer, take a 3 hour trip to Staithes, explore this pretty village and visit the lifeboat station. Private charters and educational cruises are also available.

If you would prefer something more relaxing, then a gentle row on the lovely river Esk takes some beating. The Ruswarp Pleasure Boats were established in 1874 and still provide a most enjoyable afternoon out for all ages.
