The Whitby Book Shop A real treasure house of books, including a fine selection for children. TheWhitby Book Shop is over the bridge in Church Street and is a quiet oasis in the busy old town. See their website for details of book signings by well known authors.
Young's Jewellers is situated at the top of Skinner Street and, although quite a small shop, stocks an exquisite range of jewellery and fine objets d'art. They also specialise in bespoke designs which are made on the premises. If you would like a lasting memory of your stay in Whitby then Young's is well worth a visit. 
Fortune's Smokehouse & Kipper Shop Fortune's Kippers is located right at the end of Henrietta Street. When you get to the bottom of the 199 steps just keep walking and the intensity of the aroma of oak smoke will increase steadily until you arrive. The Frank Sutcliffe Gallery Between 1875 and 1910 Frank Sutcliffe took wonderful sepia photographs of Whitby and the surrounding countryside. These superb prints of victorian life make an ideal gift, or a lasting reminder of your visit to the town. The gallery is situated at the bottom of Flowegate.

The Original Whitby Jet Shop Hamond's jet shop was founded in 1860 when Queen Victoria made Whitby jet jewellery so popular. Today these beautiful pieces are still much sort after and Hamond's has a wonderful selection. Why not visit them on Church Street in the old town, or look at their range on the website.

The Turnstone Gallery Packed with beautiful pictures, sculpture and pottery, The Turnstone also holds regular exhibitions by contemporary local artists in their large lower gallery. Just 3 miles from Whitby, on the seafront at Sandsend, you will not find a better selection of original art anywhere on the Yorkshire Coast.
Dave Jeffery is a Whitby based artist who produces delightful pictures in a variety of mediums. He also leads residential painting courses in Robin Hoods Bay, with accommodation at Thorpe Hall. The Whitby Catch Situated on Pier Road, this superb seafood shop has won a string of awards including 5th place in the top 50 food shops in the UK according to the Independent. You can buy in the shop and also order online if you wish. Their fish comes straight from the boat onto the counter and it could not be fresher, take a look for yourself:
