The Moors

The North Yorkshire Moors National Park covers over 550 square miles of beautiful heather moorland. Take a drive to Goathland, the Adenfield of Heartbeat; then continue across the moor to Grosmont, home of the NYM Steam Railway, and enjoy a snack in the station tea rooms while you watch the trains. Follow the delightful Esk valley through the quiet villages of Egton Bridge and Glaisdale, stopping wherever you choose.

Finally try out the stepping stones over the river at Lealholm before rewarding the family with a super meal at The Board Inn, an eighteenth century coaching house featured in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2009. This rustic country pub is one of the best places to eat on the Moors and you must book early!
